I was born in
1953 in Duddeston
Mill,
1970
and started out as an apprentice
shopfitter.
For a period I worked as a
signwriter and then joined
the Civil
Service as a ‘temporary measure’ while
looking for work that suited my talent.
It was
some 18 years
later aged 37
when
I took the plunge and, supported
by my Wife,
left the
Civil Service to
start painting professionally.
I
am totally ‘self taught and would like
to
consider myself a ‘natural painter’.
My
interests include the
old
films, table top
war gaming
(although these days this has
moved
to Computer wargaming!) Also I like to spend time building large scale
wooden
model
ships of the 18th/19th centuries; Nelson’s Navy and am in fact a
member of
the ‘Nelson
Society’. I have gained a good reputation in the area of producing
nostalgic street scenes from the
turn of the 19th century which work can be seen
in the form of many ‘jigsaw
puzzles’. I am currently
building up a good portfolio
of work related to the Sharpe AppreciationSociety (the alternative SAS!) which is
I work
mainly in the medium of OIL
PAINT and will the official fan club of the
award winning TV series of films starring Sean Bean and
consider taking on most private commissions. which I now
help to run. I have recently moved to Northumberland and spend
I have completed many portraits (including
pets) and much of my
spare time helping the Retired
Greyhound Trust in any way I can to
prefer to work from
photographic reference which I raise funds and find homes
for these beautiful dogs. Of which I own
two and which
find is most convenient for myself
and the customer. I
exercise on the fabulous beaches of Northumberland.
I will also ( no
additional cost) obtain the photographic
reference myself if
necessary.

‘Giclee’ prints are available of my past work in the
area
of ‘nostalgic street scenes’ from the
turn of the 19th
century. Many of
these scenes are
also available as
Lithographic prints and photo prints are available of Many various subjects included
the artwork I have produced in connection with
the Order ‘online’ using the PayPal facility
award winning TV series
‘Sharpe’.
